The PVA has created the Property Comparison Worksheet to help you compile a list of sales of properties similar to yours. Including at least 3 comparable sales will ensure your appeal has comprehensive data that will further your opinion of value. You should try to include only sales within an 18 month period prior to January 1. Also, be sure to use sales of properties, and not property assessments. Where to find comparable sales data
Online access to sales data is available in the PVA office for research or other informational purposes.
The PVA’s research tools are also available online, at no cost, at Louisville Free Public Library branches. Additional sources of sales data include local real estate agents, real estate appraisers, mortgage brokers and newspapers.
