Don’t you love autumn after a hot summer? Things are cooling off and there is just a sense of calm and fun in the air. That’s why we’ve decided to move YMCA Safe Place Services 22nd Annual Firefighters’ Turf Classic Event to Friday, September 26, 2014. We invite you to make plans to join us! This event is a great way to recognize clients, staff or prospective partners in a low-key atmosphere. Churchill Downs hosts a day of horse racing with a twist: the favorite race of the day is run by Louisville’s finest firefighters as representatives of our corporate sponsors. over 600 guests join us in the Jockey Club Suites and Triple Crown Room for a late lunch, racing and silent auction.

Perhaps you know of a business or other valuable partner in our community that would consider participating in this unique event. It is with partners and events such as this that we are able to raise awareness and funds to support our unduplicated services to teens and their families in our community. In 2013, we served over 600 teens in our 24/7 Shelter House Program, mentored 17 youth in our Y-NOW Mentoring Children of Prisoner’s Program, provided over 65 young adults case management through our Street Outreach Program and connected 131 youth through Safe Place sites to our Shelter House Program. You, too, can be part of this success!
