Deadline is Feb. 15
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 27, 2015) — Deadlines for several opportunities for individual artists and arts organizations are coming up. The deadline is Feb. 15 for the following Kentucky Arts Council programs:
Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant: Provides up to $3,000 to a Kentucky master traditional artist to teach skills, practices and culture to a less experienced artist from the same community during the course of a year.
Al Smith Fellowship and Emerging Artist Award: Al Smith Fellowship wards $7,500 to artists who have achieved a high level of excellence and creativity in their work. Emerging Artist Awards are $1,000 and given to artists who are beginning their creative careers and have demonstrated superior talent and potential in their artistic discipline.
Performing Arts Directory: The Performing Arts Directory is an adjudicated roster of Kentucky performing artists used by in-state and out-of-state presenters and others as a resource for identifying artists for performance bookings and projects.
Arts Access Assistance: Grants are available to communities to fund projects designed to bring arts to underserved populations in Kentucky. In this year’s round of Arts Access Assistance grants, we are focusing on the 54-county area of the Appalachian Regional Commission.
