Ky. 22 in eastern Louisville reopened Monday, bringing relief to thousands of drivers who have been contending with traffic jams and taking detours since April flooding caused the road to collapse.
The roadway was paved Sunday where a cavernous gap had been left, and barricades had blocked it over Goose Creek. Andrea Clifford, Louisville spokeswoman for the state highway department, said the section of roadway opened at around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
