Shoni Schimmel scored 24 points and giant-slaying Louisville claimed another big upset Tuesday night, beating second-seeded Tennessee 86-78.

Two nights after taking down Brittney Griner and defending national champion Baylor, the fifth-seeded Cardinals built a 20-point lead and then withstood a second- half comeback by the powerhouse Lady Vols.

Louisville’s win puts both of the school’s basketball teams in the Final Four. Next up for the women’s team: California, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in New Orleans. The game will be on ESPN.  See coverage in Sports, C1, and online at www. courier-journal.com.
