Metro Libraries offer Summer Reading Program

School’s out, and summer is in full swing. But that’s no reason for your youngster to stop reading.

And books about sports are sure to keep many kids interested.

Louisville Free Public Library’s Summer Reading Program may be just what the teacher ordered.

“We have a program for children from first- to fifth-grade, and that program consists of them reading 10 books,” said Kate Schiavo, the library’s Youth Services Manager. After reading 10 books, they’re eligible for prizes, ranging from a backpack to a free frosty at Wendy’s.
