RE:  Deed and Property Records Scam

Tony Lindauer, Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator wants to alert the public that there is a scam circulating throughout the State of Kentucky regarding  property documents, deeds and other legal documents.

A company called Records Recovery Services offers documents for sale to the public for exorbitant fees. PVA offices throughout Kentucky have received calls from customers regarding these solicitations through the mail. They are offering land and deed information for $87.00 and other services such as checking your property assessment for you for a $50.00 fee.

Lindauer stated: “This is a scam because these records are available in all PVA offices for very nominal fees and a homeowner is entitled to a free copy of their own property card. Our Products and Services Center is open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m. and our staff is always ready to assist you with your needs.”  Our website is also available at www.jeffersonpva.ky.gov and offers current information on all Jefferson County properties.  A day-pass to our website is $10.00 and any of these records can be accessed from the website.
