If you’re a resident of 40205, which includes neighborhoods such as the Highlands and Seneca Gardens, you live in one of the nation’s “hottest” ZIP codes, according to Realtor.com.
The website’s economic data team has released its analysis of the nation’s “hottest ZIP codes midyear” for the first time, and 40205 comes in at No. 25 on the list, The Courier-Journal reports.
Realtor.com’s ranking is based on how quickly properties are selling and how frequently homes for sale are viewed in each ZIP code, the story said.
“Listings in 40205 have received almost three times the views as the average listing in the U.S., and two to four times the views as the average listing in Louisville,” Realtor.com said in a news release. “At the same time, inventory in the ZIP (code) has a median age of 38 days, which is 23 days lower than the market median and 35 days faster than the national median.”
Representatives from the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors say 40205 is popular because it has well-established neighborhoods that are close to interstates, parks, attractions, dining and entertainment options, and the homes are usually more affordable than those in nearby ZIP codes, including 40204, the story said.
Realtor.com assessed all 32,000 ZIP codes across the U.S. with 14 or more active listings. The top three ZIP codes on the list are in Melrose, Mass., Worthington, Ohio, and Centennial, Colo.
