The Portland Investment Initiative, headed by businessman Gill Holland, has purchased a key 2.5-acre site in the Portland area, near Rowan and 24th streets.

The site is in what’s known as the East Portland Warehouse District. The property includes the 13,000-square-foot Portland Station Terminal Building.

“Portland Station” is strategically situated one block east of the University of Louisville’s Master of Fine Arts building and one block northwest of the recently announced Heine Brothers’ headquarters and roaster building.

Portland Station also borders the planned area of the next phase of Waterfront Park, where nearly $40 million of park development is eventually planned along the floodwall.
