2017 Real Property Assessment Roll Inspection Period
In Compliance with KRS 133.045, Jefferson County PVA Tony Lindauer
announces the 2017 Jefferson County real property assessment roll will be
open for public inspection May 1- May 15, 2017 at the PVA office located
at Glassworks Building located at 815 W. Market St, Suite 400, Louisville
KY 40202-2654. The assessment roll may be inspected between 8:00am
and 4:00pm Monday thru Friday and between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm on
Saturday May 6th and May 13th.

Assessment Appeal Process
Under state law (KRS 133.120) property owners who wish to contest their
assessment must first complete the PVA Online Conference during the
annual Open Inspection Period (OIP).

PVA Online Conference Process

The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator online
conference appeal is available for convenience to taxpayers. Beginning
at Noon on April 21st, 2017, property owners can go to the PVA website at
www.jeffersonpva.ky.gov to file a conference with the PVA. PVA
conferencing will close at 4:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Any property owner who disagrees with their real property assessment
after conferencing with the PVA or a Deputy of the PVA,, may appeal to the
Local Board of Assessment Appeals. The appeal must be filed with the
Jefferson County Clerk’s office on the PVA conference result form provided
by the PVA no later than May 16th, 2017 or one (1) workday following the
conclusion of the Open Inspection Period. The appeal may be filed in
person, by letter, or other written petition. In the appeal, please identify the
property, state the reason for appeal and owner’s opinion of the property’s
fair cash value.
Property owners who wish to appeal the Local Board’s decision may
appeal to the Kentucky Claims Commission (formerly the Kentucky
Board of Tax Appeals). Any property owner failing to appeal to the Local
Board of Assessment Appeals or failing to appear before the Board, either
in person or by designated representative, will not be eligible to appeal to
the Kentucky Claims Commission.
