Sept. 3, 2024—The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) tax rate on real property will decrease for the 2024-25 fiscal year due to rising property assessments throughout the county.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — For the third year in a row, Kentucky’s real property tax rate has dropped.

DOR Sets 2023-2024 Homestead Exemption
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 21, 2022) – The Kentucky Department of Revenue (DOR) has set the maximum homestead exemption at $46,350 for the 2023 and 2024 tax periods. By statute, the amount of the homestead exemption is recalculated every two years to adjust for inflation.
2022 Tax Bills to be Mailed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on November 1st.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will mail the 2022 Property Tax Bills on Tuesday, November 1st. The Tax Bill will also be available to view and pay online at www.jcsoky.org.
