PVA Online Conferences will be available from April 25, 2025 at 12pm E.D.T. until 4pm E.D.T. on May 19, 2025.
We do our best to maintain fair and equitable property assessments, but we don’t know all the details about your property. If you disagree with your property assessment we want you to know you have a right to appeal.
Click on “Online Conference, Documentation, and Appeals” below to find a You Have a Right to Appeal community meeting near you to learn more about the assessment process and how to file a PVA Online Conference, the first step in the appeal process.
By statute, KRS 133.045, the Open Inspection Period begins on the first Monday in May and continues for a 13-day period (May 5-19, 2025) including two Saturdays (May 10 & 17, 2025). Property owners can file an Online Conference to begin the appeal process in any year, and do not need to wait to receive a reassessment notice.
For added convenience, the Jefferson County PVA requested and was granted an extended period for Jefferson County property owners to complete the first step of the appeal process: The Online Conference. The Jefferson County PVA Online Conferences will open at noon EDT on Friday April 25th and close at 4pm EDT on May 19th, 2025.
During that time, if you think your assessment does not represent the fair market value of your property as of January 1, 2025, by law, you have a right to appeal with the Jefferson County PVA by participating in the Online Conference process.
Click on “Online Conference, Documentation, and Appeals” below for helpful information on preparing for your appeal and to learn about the many options for in-person or telephone assistance with PVA staff.
When the assessment of your property increases or decreases from the prior year, the PVA will send you a reassessment notice in late April. However, you do not have to receive a reassessment notice in order to contest your property assessment. As a property owner, you have the right to contest your assessment each year. By law, certain steps must be followed in the process. You can find more information by clicking on the links below.
